POSITION INFO
A market leader in the manufacturing and distribution sector is seeking a dynamic, hands-on and commercially astute Senior Financial Accountant to join its finance team! Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful individual will take ownership of the full accounting function, implement cost-saving initiatives , provide leadership to the finance department, and ensure sound financial controls, compliance and reporting across the business. Key Responsibilities Month-end and year-end financial processes Preparation of management accounts and budgets Cash flow forecasting and payment planning Fixed asset management and tax schedules Foreign currency/exchange control exposure and SARB applications VAT calculations and SARS submissions Internal audits and risk management Cost-saving initiatives and financial analysis (Opex/Variable costings) General ledger reconciliations and journal entries Supplier consignment stock reconciliations Financial year-end audit preparation Day-to-day management of the finance department Supervision and development of a team of five staff members Minimum Requirements Qualifications BCom Accounting, BCompt Accounting Sciences, CIMA or ACCA qualification. Experience Minimum 12 years'' practical experience in a similar role. Proven experience within a manufacturing environment is essential. Strong exposure to foreign currency transactions and exchange control requirements. Previous experience supervising finance staff. Systems Experience Sage 200 Evolution Version 10 (non-negotiable). Xperdyte manufacturing system advantageous. AssetZure fixed asset software advantageous. Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Lookups and Macros. Intermediate MS Office proficiency. Key Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong negotiation and influencing skills. Able to work in a structured environment. Willing to work additional hours during month-end, budget and audit periods when required.
