Job Title: Picker and Packer

Job Summary:
A Picker and Packer is responsible for accurately picking items from inventory based on order lists, packing them securely, and preparing orders for delivery or dispatch. The role focuses on speed, accuracy, and maintaining product quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and understand pick slips, order sheets, or handheld scanner instructions
  • Locate and pick products from shelves or storage areas
  • Check items for correct quantity, quality, and condition
  • Pack products securely to prevent damage during transport
  • Label parcels and prepare shipping documentation
  • Scan barcodes and update inventory systems
  • Assist with stock replenishment and stock counts
  • Report missing, damaged, or incorrect items
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Meet daily picking and packing targets

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / high school certificate (often preferred)
  • Previous warehouse or retail experience is an advantage
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Good attention to detail
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift items for long periods
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Familiarity with scanners or warehouse systems is a plus

  • May require overtime, shift work, weekends, or night shifts
