SUMMARY

Our client, a leading organization in the telecommunications industry, is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting and enhancing the SAS Anti-Money Laundering (AML) solution, ensuring the platform remains secure, scalable, and highly available.

POSITION INFO

Requirements Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum of 3-7 years' experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, or a similar role. Proven experience working within financial services, banking, fintech, or other highly regulated environments, with exposure to mobile money platforms being advantageous. Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure and application environments. Technical Competencies Strong hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and Azure DevOps. Solid Linux/Unix system administration and troubleshooting skills. Experience administering and supporting SAS platforms, preferably SAS Anti-Money Laundering (AML) solutions or SAS Viya environments. Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes. Strong scripting and automation skills using Bash, Python, PowerShell, or similar technologies. Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and ARM templates. Familiarity with enterprise monitoring, logging, and observability platforms, including Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalent solutions. Sound understanding of networking concepts, APIs, system integrations, and enterprise architecture principles. Experience working with database technologies, including administration, performance optimisation, and troubleshooting. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience supporting M-Pesa or other mobile financial services platforms. Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), fraud detection, financial crime prevention systems, and regulatory compliance frameworks. Proven experience supporting SAS solutions within production and mission-critical environments. Exposure to microservices architectures, container-native applications, and event-driven systems. Relevant cloud certifications in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
