Nursing Service Manager

Requirements

• Diploma in General Nursing / B Cur Degree
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse, Midwife, Psychiatry, Community Health
• Post basic qualification in Nursing Administration / Management
• Post basic qualification in Nursing education will be advantageous
• At least 5 years’ experience in a private hospital setting in a management role
• Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
• Sound financial knowledge ad the ability to interpret financial data

The main purpose of this position

The Nursing Manager will be responsible for the overall nursing management of the hospital. This includes the co-ordinator of all functions and activities related to the provision, promotion and assurance of clinical patient care, via the leadership of a multidisciplinary team in consultation with all relevant stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate the nursing activities with all hospital departments to ensure alignment to the strategy and goals of the organisation
• Investigate and Report all incidents as per our client / hospital policy
• Ensure hospital is providing safe, cost-effective quality patient care in line with the clinical governance strategy of our client / hospital and evidence-based practice.
• Evaluate the patients journey through patient experience and stakeholder input
• Effective management of the nursing budget of the hospital
• Oversee responsibility for nursing education and training to ensure a qualified and competent nursing team
• Ensure best, effective clinical outcomes in terms of quality nursing care
