This role entails leading the strategic growth and optimising of Transactional Banking across a portfolio of high-value corporate clients. This role drives innovation, client-centric solutions, and cross-functional collaboration to deepen client relationships, maximise revenue, and influence the bank’s broader cash management strategy.

Are you someone who can

  • Identify cross-selling opportunities within the existing client base and collaborate with internal stakeholders to execute cross selling initiatives and strategies.

  • Leverage pricing as a strategic tool to drive value creation through pricing negotiation and to discourage behaviours that erode profitability.

  • Take full accountability for the commercial performance of client portfolios by optimising returns, ensuring liquidity, and mitigating risk.

  • Drive the growth revenue for the Sector and or Portfolio with a strong partnership with the Sector Banker on their origination activities.

  • Influence commercial decisions and outcomes by having an in-depth understanding of the client need and pricing strategy.

  • Drive and lead the client strategy through strategic planning, client segmentation, and revenue optimisation initiatives.

  • Lead the sector performance and ensure that activities are aligned to the strategic objectives for the sector. This includes budget management, pricing and revenue growth.

  • Develop and implement plans to promote transactional banking products and services within target customer sectors.

  • Leverage existing client relationships to drive initiatives, ensuring optimal utilisation of banking products and services to meet client needs while maximising revenue generation.

  • Identify opportunities to optimise the business working capital and cash management requirements more broadly and bring in other specialists as necessary.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to co-create bespoke cash management and working capital solutions.

  • Lead and guide the team with specialised and or more complex client requirements.

  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to top-tier clients, delivering expert guidance on cash management, liquidity optimisation, and trade finance solutions to support their objectives.

  • Drive adoption of cash management solutions and innovative technologies to enhance client experience.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to transactional banking activities.

  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews to assess profitability and identify areas for improvement.

  • Oversee client mandates by conducting adhoc portfolio reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Influence risk frameworks and compliance strategies for complex, multi-jurisdictional portfolios.

  • Identify existing and developing trends within the client’s environment and anticipate queries that may arise.

  • Foster strong relationships with existing clients to understand the clients’ objectives, and market relevant product-based solutions to the clients’ needs to enable them to maximise their cashflow position.

  • Promote banking solutions to clients to maximise revenue and deepen client relationships.

  • Set specific goals and objectives for each customer and develop a roadmap of meeting these goals and objectives per client.

  • Act as a primary escalation point of contact with clients for all transactional banking related matters.

  • Work closely with the client service suite to derive insights into the types of queries being raised by the client.

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

  • have a proven track record in leading and managing high-value complex portfolios, driving revenue growth and strategic client relationships.

  • have a deep expertise in corporate transactional banking, cash flow optimisation, and digital banking platforms.

  • have strong understanding of strategic portfolio management, financial modelling, and regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.

  • have analytical and financial acumen.

  • have good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • have client portfolio management experience.

  • have a post graduate degree in Business Management/Finance/Economics or equivalent degree.

  • have a minimum of 6 to 8 years’ experience in Business Development/Transactional Banking or a similar client-facing role in Banking/ Financial services.
