Our client, a leading speciality chemical Manufacturing company based in Pinetown, is looking to fill a 3-month contract position of Assistant Accountant.
Purpose of the Role
The Assistant Accountant will provide assistance to the finance manager on all aspects in the finance department.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounts and finance related topics:
- Maintaining financial records.
- Preparing financial reports.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end processes.
- Assist in compiling annual budgets and forecasts.
- Perform timely reconciliations to maintain accurate financial accounts and records.
- Submitting reports to management.
- Analysing sales and margin reports and flagging potential problems.
- Supporting the business with detailed analysis.
- Manage costs and providing cost analysis.
- Manage the company’s assets.
- Manage the company fleet.
- Manage and analyse stock.
Stock Take:
- Provide financial and processing assistance to the branches during the stock count process.
General :
- Undertakes such additional duties which may from time to time be assigned to the employee.
- To ensure that a correct and proper image of the Company is maintained at all times.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 Senior Certificate / Matric
- BCOMM Degree
- Must have 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position
- Sound knowledge and experience of statutory governmental requirements
- Sound knowledge in Tax
- SAP experience is essential
