Dispatch Supervisor

The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and executing all long-haul dispatch operations, ensuring full alignment between physical stock, Syspro transactions, transport planning, compliance, and delivery performance. The role includes leading the dispatch team and ensuring efficient, safe, and accurate distribution of goods.
Key Responsibilities
Dispatch Operations
- Oversee end-to-end long-haul dispatch process from planning to execution
- Ensure accurate picking, checking, and loading of all consignments
- Maintain alignment between physical stock, documentation, and Syspro
Transport Planning & Coordination
- Coordinate with transporters and 3PL providers
- Ensure optimal vehicle utilisation and legal load compliance
- Adjust dispatch plans based on operational requirements
- Maintain communication with drivers in transit
Syspro & Stock Control
- Create, manage, and validate SCT (Supply Chain Transfer) transactions
- Reconcile system vs physical stock before dispatch release
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies and duplicate transfers
Compliance & Safety (TREM Cards)
- Ensure all hazardous loads are dispatched with valid TREM cards
- Verify UN numbers, SDS alignment, and emergency details
- Maintain TREM register and compliance documentation
- Ensure adherence to SANS and company safety standards
Team Leadership
- Supervise dispatch staff (storemen, checkers, packers)
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor productivity
- Train, mentor, and develop team members
- Enforce discipline, safety, and operational standards
Reporting & Performance
- Monitor OTIF/DIFOT, dispatch accuracy, and productivity KPIs
- Analyse dispatch reports and identify improvement areas
- Support warehouse management with operational insights
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 (essential)
- Minimum 3–5 years warehouse/logistics experience
- 2–3 years supervisory experience
- Syspro (or similar ERP system) experience essential
- Forklift licence (required)
- Code 08 driver’s licence (required)
- Experience in hazardous goods handling advantageous
- Strong understanding of transport operations
