The Role: Sales Representative (Oakley/Ray-Ban eyewear, Oakley Apparel, Footwear and Accessories) The purpose of this role is to develop effective business relationships with retail stores outside of the traditional optical channel, specifically focusing on independent fashion, departmental, footwear, and sports doors. Reporting to the Independent Channel Manager, the successful candidate will focus on acquiring new customers and growing the existing customer base across the territory. The main focus areas involve implementing the brand''s sales strategy, opening new doors, and increasing the number of brands sold to meet or exceed distribution and revenue goals. Key Responsibilities Maintain and grow commercial relationships with existing retail accounts in the sports and eyewear retail space, utilising 3 to 5 years of proven sales experience within the wholesale channel. Identify, target, and open new retail doors, including sports shops, fashion retailers, outdoor stores, footwear, and departmental stores for helmets, apparel, footwear, and accessories, and eyewear. Implement the brand sales strategy to consistently meet or exceed distribution and revenue goals within the assigned territory. Conduct line showings, product knowledge sessions, and seasonal sell-ins to retail buyers and store staff. Organise and execute regular territory planning and store visits to maximise in-store presence, sell-through, and support. Track sales performance, compile reports, and provide regular market insights and updates to the management team. Ensure optimal visual merchandising and branding execution at the retail level while training staff on how to effectively sell out the brands. Manage point of sale material placement negotiations and ensure all company assets under your control are secured. About You 3 to 5 years of proven sales experience specifically within the wholesale channel. Valid driver''s license with your own reliable vehicle, and full willingness to travel and manage the territory independently. Competence using Microsoft Office with an intermediate level of Excel skill, digital catalogues, and online systems. Fluency in both English and Afrikaans languages. Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, functions, and diverse cultures, including participation in quarterly after-hours activations and events. Strong account management, prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills, with the ability to turn a no into a sale and focus on long-term value. Highly self-motivated, target-driven, and an independent worker with strong self-discipline, planning, and organisational skills. Adaptable, resilient, flexible, and open to change within a fast-paced retail environment. Tertiary qualification focusing on Marketing, Sales, or Business is advantageous.
