About You

The Midweight Videographer owns the shoot-to-edit pipeline for video across product, lifestyle and campaign work. You’ll shoot a high volume of product-focused content, cut it fast and to a high standard, and add the motion and graphics that make it land.

The role carries genuine creative autonomy, with the volume and variety of a high-output commercial studio. You’ll work closely with the Studio Manager and the wider studio team (photographer, retouchers, stylist) and contribute to the creative direction of the studio overall, not just the shoots in front of you.

Responsibilities

Producing Daily Product Videos

  • Shoot product-focused video in studio on a consistent weekly cadence, keeping the product the hero.
  • Edit fast and to a high standard in Premiere Pro: snappy cuts, clean pacing, considered sound design.
  • Liaise with the Studio Manager to ensure briefs are executed within given timeframes.

Concept and Direction

  • Bring ideas to the table. Contribute concepts, angles and formats, not just final cuts.
  • Build clear references and mood boards before a shoot, defining the look, pacing and treatment up front.
  • Sense-check briefs against the OneDayOnly brand: quirky, witty, considered, never generic.
  • Present cuts to the Studio Manager, take feedback, and turn it around quickly.
  • Tight timelines are the norm, not the exception.

Editing and Motion

  • Create motion graphics and light animation to lift product videos and campaign content.
  • Cut content natively for social: vertical-first, hook-driven, built around current formats and trends.
  • Repurpose and resize a single shoot into multiple deliverables for site, social and paid.
  • Take creative accountability for the final cut. If something isn’t working, you’re the one who flags it and resolves it.

On-Set Execution

  • Capture your own video on set, switching between product, lifestyle and campaign work within the same day.
  • Set up and run basic video lighting to keep footage consistent and clean.
  • Shoot campaign video as needed, working to a bigger concept alongside the Studio Manager and wider team.
  • Collaborate with the photographer, stylist and wider team on set, making real-time calls that keep the shoot moving.

Communication and Admin

  • Communicate clearly and early with the Studio Manager and the rest of the studio team. Identify and resolve blockers early to keep shoots running smoothly.
  • Work closely with the social media team on content for their channels, taking direction on formats and turning around assets that fit each platform.
  • Engage directly with the sales and marketing teams when a brief needs unpacking or direction needs aligning.
  • Keep your pipeline updated daily, log tasks and time accurately, and use the studio’s Asana and Google Chat workflows to ensure smooth delivery of assets.

Pushing the Work Forward

  • Stay current on what’s happening in video and social content, especially in the realm of e-commerce.
  • Bring fresh ideas to the team. Editing techniques, formats, motion treatments and social trends. The studio thrives when everyone’s contributing, not just executing.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 4 to 5 years’ experience producing and editing video in a studio, commercial or content environment.
  • A reel that shows fast, modern product or brand video, with a clear point of view running through it. This matters more than your CV.
  • Demonstrable experience taking content from concept through to final cut.
  • Premiere Pro mastery, you edit quickly and cleanly, and you know how to make a cut feel sharp.
  • Motion graphics ability: Comfortable in After Effects (or similar) for titles, transitions and light animation.
  • A social-native instinct: You understand vertical video, hooks, retention and what makes content perform in a feed.
  • Confident in operating a camera for video and setting up basic lighting. Enough to capture clean footage yourself and collaborate properly with the photographer.
  • Solid administrative discipline. Briefs read, pipeline updated, decisions documented.
  • Working knowledge of Asana, Google Suite, and moodboarding tools (Canva, etc.) are advantageous.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and calm when timelines tighten. You can turn around volume without dropping standards.
  • Honest and open communicator.
  • Organised across multiple jobs running in parallel, without dropping the small things.
  • A team player who works well in a small, close-knit creative studio.

  • Challenge Accepted: We create bold campaigns, own our results, and push creative boundaries to make an impact.
