Minimum 5 years' Commercial Underwriting experience
Proven experience underwriting Commercial Insurance products
Demonstrated ability to assess risk exposure and underwrite within delegated mandates
NQF Level 4: Short-Term Commercial Lines (60 Credits)
RE5 Qualification (Level 1) completed
Underwrite new commercial risks in line with company risk guidelines
Manage and monitor broker portfolios to maintain acceptable loss ratios
Ensure compliance with reinsurance treaties and internal underwriting mandates
Handle policy amendments, renewals, and underwriting queries
Build and maintain strong broker relationships
Provide product guidance, training, and support to brokers
Review and maintain policy wordings and product competitiveness
Analise poorly performing risks and implement corrective action
Assist with product development and system enhancements
Conduct competitor product comparisons and market analysis
Strong commercial underwriting and risk assessment ability
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Customer-focused with strong relationship-building abilities
Ability to work effectively under pressure
