Our client in Agricultural Industry, requires the services of a Business and Systems Analyst

to join their team. This role is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and stabilising the company's information systems, while transforming data into accurate, decision-ready information that supports management at all operational levels of the business.

Key performance areas

  • Implement, maintain, and stabilise sales capture and production information systems to ensure system reliability.
  • Configure, maintain, and implement vendor-released system updates.
  • Act as the in-house systems champion, reducing dependence on the Managing Director for routine systems matters.
  • Maintain a clean, reconciled single source of truth across sales and production data.
  • Provide the finance team, procurement, and management with accurate and timely data.
  • Perform operational and commercial data analysis, including sales analysis.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports using Excel and database queries.
  • Support the November to March harvest, sales, and invoicing cycle by ensuring information systems operate without disruption.
  • Provide timely data to support packaging stock, just-in-time procurement, and similar operational decisions.
  • Implement vendor updates and drive continuous system improvements and automation.
  • Reduce manual Excel processes as the business grows.
  • Manage relationships with information system vendors, including support, updates, and service levels.

The successful candidate must have

  • Matric with a Degree in Information Systems, IT, Data or Commerce, Agricultural Economics or relevant qualification
  • Must have at least 3–5 years’ relevant experience in a systems / data / analytics role, able to operate this seat through a full season without hand-holding
  • Accounting / financial literacy would be advantageous
  • Agriculture, export or supply-chain exposure would be advantageous
  • Must be advanced in Excel: cross-database queries, pivot models, data manipulation
  • Must have knowledge of Power Query / Power BI: the Microsoft 365 data stack
  • Must have demonstrated data-analysis capability: raw operational data into decision-ready information
  • Systems literacy: owning, configuring and troubleshooting business information systems
  • Excellent computer literacy (MS Office – Outlook, Word & Excel)
  • SQL or deeper database skills would be advantageous
  • Power Automate / automation; exposure to AI and analytics tooling would be advantageous
  • Vendor / service-level management experience would be advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Commercial sense: understands why the numbers matter, not just how to produce them
  • Must be self-directed and reliable: able to carry a staff function under seasonal pressure
  • Intellectual calibre to engage at a commercial-strategic level with the Managing Director
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Sound data-management discipline: integrity, reconciliation, single-source-of-truth thinking
  • Must have a driver’s licence and own reliable transport
