CONSTRUCTION/SITE MANAGER

We are looking to employ the services of a Construction / Site Manager. The Construction/Site Manager will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Project Manager with management of various worksites.
- Develops project schedules in conjunction with the General Manager; plans, directs and assigns duties for project personnel; schedules and authorizes overtime as necessary to meet project schedules.
- Manage and coordinate all phases of structural steel projects from inception to completion.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to ensure successful completion.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Prepare and present project reports to General Manager.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
- Recruits, hires, and trains employees on their relative functions; conducts safety orientations and meetings; assures that established policies and procedures are followed.
- Coordinates with the Operations Manager for manufacturing methods processes and tooling necessary to produce new products. Reviews and implements engineering change notices as appropriate; updates manufacturing documentation including assembly manuals.
- Oversees and supervise all functions including receiving of components, inventory control, production, and interim quality checks and deliveries; assures compliance with all regulations and good manufacturing practices.
- Troubleshoots any project problems; assures that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production; reports any process or equipment problems to the General Manger, Operations Manager and/or QC Officer.
- Performs other project duties as required.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
- Previous experience in a Structural steel , Mechanical, Platework and Piping Construction environment, in a similar position, is essential.
- National Diploma in N6 Structural/ Mechanical Engineering advantage
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the structural steel industry.
- Registered SACPCMP OR PMP Registered advantage
- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
- Excellent leadership, communication and fully bilingual (English and Afrikaans), and organizational skills
- Good understanding of ISO 9001:2015
- Knowledge of steel fabrication, constructions & technical drawings essential
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
- Computer Literate, MS Word, Excel, MS Projects, Teams
- Good administrative skills & systematic
- Strong Mathematical abilities and attention to detail
- Multitask and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
