Pinnacle College Ridge View is a dynamic and growing school community, founded in 2025, where staff have the opportunity to help shape its culture, systems and future from the ground up. As the school continues to grow, several positions will become available from 1 January 2027.
We are seeking an experienced, skilled and dedicated Computer Applications Technology and EdTech (Coding and Robotics) Teacher to join our academic team.
The successful candidate will teach Computer Applications Technology and EdTech, contribute meaningfully to curriculum delivery and assessment practice, and support the effective integration of educational technology, coding and robotics across the school.
The successful candidate should bring strong subject expertise, classroom experience and the confidence to support staff and students in using digital tools purposefully to enhance teaching, learning and assessment. Experience in an IEB school environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Computer Applications Technology lessons aligned with CAPS, IEB requirements and school curriculum expectations.
- Design, administer, mark and moderate formative and summative assessments in line with school and IEB requirements.
- Prepare students effectively for the IEB NSC examinations, where applicable.
- Develop students’ competence in computer systems, software applications, digital communication, information management, problem-solving and responsible use of technology.
- Develop and support coding and robotics learning opportunities appropriate to the school’s curriculum and broader EdTech programme.
- Use assessment data to identify learning gaps and implement targeted support and intervention strategies.
- Maintain accurate academic records and provide constructive, timely feedback to students and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, resource development, moderation and interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
- Support the integration of appropriate educational technology, coding, robotics, digital platforms and productivity tools across teaching and learning.
- Assist staff with the effective use of learning technologies, digital assessment tools, coding and robotics resources, and online learning platforms.
- Participate actively in staff development, academic meetings, school events and co-curricular programmes.
- Remain informed of developments in CAT, coding, robotics, EdTech, IEB requirements, digital learning and assessment practice.
- Foster a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment that promotes participation, accountability, digital citizenship and academic confidence.
Requirements
- A relevant undergraduate degree in Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications Technology or a related field.
- A recognised professional teaching qualification.
- Current SACE registration.
- Essential: Proven teaching and assessment experience within an IEB school environment.
- Demonstrable experience teaching Computer Applications Technology.
- Sound knowledge of CAPS, IEB assessment requirements, moderation processes and preparation for the IEB NSC examinations.
- Experience using educational technology, learning management systems and digital tools to support teaching, assessment and communication.
- Demonstrable knowledge or experience in coding and robotics education.
- A proven track record of supporting strong student learning outcomes through effective and innovative teaching strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyse assessment data and use it to inform teaching practice, intervention and curriculum decisions.
- Confidence in supporting the use of school-based technology, software applications, coding and robotics resources, and digital learning platforms.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant postgraduate qualification in Education, Information Technology, Computer Science, Educational Technology or a related field.
- Experience in assessment design, moderation and academic intervention.
- Experience supporting or training colleagues in the use of educational technology, coding or robotics.
- Familiarity with coding languages, databases, productivity software, digital citizenship and online safety.
- Active participation in professional learning communities or networks focused on CAT, IT, coding, robotics or educational technology.
- Participation in sport, cultural, service or other co-curricular activities.
