The Financial Accountant’s role is to support financial decision-making information by collecting, analyzing, investigating, reconciling, and reporting financial data by collaborating with various stakeholders where necessary

  • Prepare monthly Standard Journals
  • Provide support to our South African business ensuring local compliance, monthly reconciliations are performed, implementation of local operating procedures as well as management of cash flow management.
  • Provide assistance with monthly HFM reporting where required.
  • Performing reviews and audits of internal controls to ensure compliance.
  • Perform General Ledger reconciliations and provide meaningful information regarding reconciling items. Long and unusual items are identified, and appropriate action are taken.
  • Analyze and interpret data to provide financial management information for decision-making.
  • Prepares monthly statements by collecting data; analyzing and investigating variances; summarizing data, information, and trends.
  • Responds to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data.
  • Preparation of forecasts and budgets
  • Verify supporting documentation for validity, accuracy and completeness and capture transactions on the accounting system.
  • Manage interface exceptions effectively and ensure that appropriate, timely actions are taken.
  • Inter-company transaction reconciliation and review.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the departmental, company processes and procedures.
  • Assist in the intercompany reconciliations and payments
  • Assist in the weekly review of all payments
  • Assist with Payroll recons and Journals
  • Assist in monthly and year-end closure process.
  • Assistance with internal and external audits.
  • Assistance to business units with finance related queries
  • Management of BEE compliance audit
  • Ad hoc accounting projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years’ experience in similar field.
  • Experience working with African Entities
