We are seeking an accomplished and commercially minded executive to join our executive leadership team as Managing Director: Corporate Services. This is a strategic executive role for a seasoned leader with the credibility, vision and influence to lead corporate services as an integrated business enabler in a dynamic and growth-focused organisation.

We are looking for a mature executive with a proven track record in senior leadership, corporate affairs, stakeholder relations, strategic communication and business alignment. The ideal candidate combines strong commercial acumen with outstanding interpersonal influence and the ability to operate effectively at board, executive and industry level.

The successful candidate will provide executive leadership across the corporate services portfolio, ensuring alignment between business strategy, stakeholder expectations, organisational reputation and operational excellence. The role requires a high-impact leader with a proven track record of excellent communication capability, strategic judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships across internal and external stakeholder groups.

Requirements

  • A relevant postgraduate qualification, preferably an MBA or equivalent executive qualification.
  • Extensive (>10 years) senior and executive management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in corporate services, stakeholder relations, strategic communications, brand or corporate affairs.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to influence strategic direction and support organisational growth.
  • High levels of professionalism, judgement, discretion and business credibility.

Advantageous Experience

  • Experience in agriculture, agribusiness, regional operations or a diversified business environment.
  • Exposure to executive spokesperson responsibilities and corporate reputation management, specifically related to the Media and the General Public.
  • Involvement in industry bodies, chambers, boards or sector-level stakeholder structures.
  • Bilingual communication ability in Afrikaans and English.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction across the corporate services environment.
  • Partner with executive leadership to shape, communicate and execute organisational strategy.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, corporate communication and reputation management at executive level.
  • Drive alignment between corporate services functions and overall business priorities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, industry bodies and external partners.
  • Enable effective governance, cross-functional collaboration and service excellence across support functions.
  • Guide organisational positioning, executive messaging and strategic communication initiatives.
  • Lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams to deliver sustainable business value.

The successful candidate will report to the VKB Group CEO in their capacity as Managing Director Corporate Services VKB Group.
