Bookkeeper - Johannesburg

A well-established professional services firm is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their finance team in Bedfordview, Johannesburg. This role is ideal for a self-driven and detail-oriented individual with a solid understanding of accounting processes, who is comfortable managing the full bookkeeping function independently within a structured and professional environment.

• Processing and maintaining the debtors and creditors ledgers
• Managing and reconciling the cash book on a regular basis
• Processing and submitting VAT returns in compliance with SARS requirements
• Ensuring accurate and up-to-date financial records at all times
• Liaising with internal stakeholders and external parties as required
• Identifying and resolving bookkeeping discrepancies in a timely manner
• Supporting the broader finance team with general accounting duties as needed

• Proven experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role
• Strong understanding of VAT legislation and SARS processes
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in Pastel Partner, Sage One, Xero, and QuickBooks
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines consistently
