The Payroll Specialist provides end to end Payroll and Facilities Management, ensuring accurate, compliant and timely remuneration, robust controls, and fit for purpose employee and workplace services that enable organisational performance.
The role partners with Finance, ICT and key internal / external stakeholders to drive process optimisation, risk management, audit readiness, and continuous improvement across payroll, benefits and facilities operations.
JOB OUTCOMES
- Manage the full payroll cycle, including validations, reconciliations, approvals and timely payments to employees and third parties.
- Ensure accurate and timely statutory submissions and payments, including PAYE, UIF, SDL and COIDA.
- Maintain payroll governance, internal controls, audit readiness and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate employee lifecycle payroll activities, including onboarding, amendments, benefits changes and terminations.
- Manage relationships with payroll-related service providers and employee benefit administrators.
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations and audit packs for internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with Finance and ICT to support system integrity, payroll accounting, process optimisation and automation.
- Monitor leave-related payroll processes and ensure compliance with approved policies and controls.
- Provide payroll advice, support and service to employees, management and relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources
- A post graduate qualification will be advantageous
Minimum Experience
- 6 – 10 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll administration, including governance, statutory compliance, payroll accounting and audit support.
- Advanced capability in payroll systems, preferably Sage Premier, and strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
- Experience in payroll reconciliations, statutory submissions, controls, and process improvement.
Working knowledge of employee benefits administration and payroll-related stakeholder management
