Salary: R25 000 basic (Medical aid and profident fund benefit)

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, aligned to UK business hours:

  • 07:00 – 17:00 SA Time during UK Daylight Saving Time (BST)
  • 06:00 – 16:00 SA Time during UK Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

As part of our Connected Operations team, you will support customers within the Commercial Real Estate sector while working with a wide range of networking and infrastructure technologies.

The Role

We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused 2nd Line Service Desk Engineer to join our growing technical support team. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving networking and infrastructure-related issues, supporting field engineers, configuring equipment, and ensuring service levels are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd Line technical support for customer incidents and service requests
  • Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, firewall, and connectivity issues
  • Configure and support networking equipment
  • Escalate complex issues where required
  • Support field engineering teams with technical assistance
  • Maintain accurate ticket updates and documentation
  • Ensure SLA targets and customer service standards are met
  • Work with industry-leading networking and monitoring tools

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an IT Support or Service Desk environment
  • Strong networking knowledge including LAN, WAN and Firewall technologies
  • Current CCNA certification (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with at least two of the following vendors:
    • Cisco
    • Juniper
    • Aruba
    • Ruckus / Brocade
    • Fortinet (FortiGate)
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Customer-focused with a strong work ethic

Advantageous

  • Previous 2nd Line Support experience
  • SIP / VoIP experience
  • Firewall and network security experience (IDS, IPS, Security Appliances)
