Qualified Accountant - Worcester

We are seeking a qualified and client-focused Accountant to join our client’s accounting practice. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients, oversee financial reporting and compliance, and provide trusted accounting and tax support. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP).
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit VAT, income tax, and other statutory returns.

• Manage and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of clients.
• Act as the primary point of contact for client accounting queries.
• Provide financial advice and insights to support business decisionmaking.
• Conduct client meetings to review financial performance and discuss strategies.

• Review bookkeeping work and ensure accuracy of ledgers and reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Perform bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations.

• Mentor and support junior accounting staff.
• Assist with internal process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to firm policies and professional standards.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification (CIBA, SAIPA, SAICA or equivalent).
• 3-5+ years of experience in an accounting practice environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Experience with accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Oodo, Draftworx).
