Purpose Of The Job

Our client a well-established commercial vehicle dealership, is seeking a qualified and experienced Diesel Technician (Mercedes Benz experience) to join their workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and servicing on commercial vehicles while ensuring work is completed efficiently and to manufacturer and dealership standards.

POSITION INFO

Responsibilities: Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on commercial vehicles Conduct advanced diagnostics and fault-finding on mechanical and electronic systems Repair, replace, and overhaul vehicle components in accordance with manufacturer specifications Complete all job cards, workshop reports, and warranty documentation accurately Ensure all repairs are completed within allocated labour times and quality standards Carry out vehicle inspections and road tests where required Maintain workshop equipment and tools in good working condition Adhere to dealership processes, manufacturer standards, and health and safety regulations Participate in technical training and remain up to date with product developments and new technologies Support workshop productivity and contribute to overall customer satisfaction Requirements: Qualified Diesel Technician (Red Seal Trade Test essential) Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience as a Diesel Technician within a commercial vehicle dealership environment Previous experience working on MERCEDES BENZ commercial vehicles Essential! Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills Experience with electronic diagnostic equipment and manufacturer systems Valid driver's license (Code 14 advantageous) Computer literate Ability to work independently and within a team environment Good communication and problem-solving skills Key Competencies: Strong diagnostic and technical skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to work efficiently under pressure Effective problem-solving abilities Strong organisational and time management skills Commitment to quality workmanship Professional and reliable work ethic Team player with good communication skills Please note only candidates with the required experience will be contacted and considered.
