Lecturer: Educational Psychology

Requirements

• PhD degree in Educational Psychology or cognate field in Psychology

• Masters degree in Educational Psychology.

• Registration with the HPCSA in the category of Educational Psychologist preferably for three years or more

• Educational background, teaching and research interests in educational psychology (e.g. psychotherapy, psychological assessment, psychopathology, community psychology)

• Experience in teaching psychology at a tertiary level

• Proven research ability as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and/or research reports

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

This will be a permanent post subject to a three year probationary period.

Responsibilities

Teach courses relevant to the specialisation of educational psychology, research methods and/or psychology at undergraduate and postgraduate level; contributions to course-level curriculum development and transformation; academic administration; supervision of postgraduate students; willingness to pursue an active programme of research and research publication; and willingness to participate in the intellectual and public life of the school and university.
