On behalf of our client we are recruiting for an experienced Software Delivery Manager to lead a talented team of Software Developers and Business Analysts while ensuring the successful delivery of business-critical technical initiatives. This is an opportunity to play a key leadership role within a stable organization where your ability to align people, processes and priorities will directly impact business success.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall performance, leadership and effectiveness of the development function
• Leading and mentoring a team of Business Analysts and Software Developers
• Creating high-performance collaborative and accountable team culture
• Driving delivery excellence across projects, enhancements and support initiatives
• Managing team performance, career development and succession planning
• Partnering with stakeholders to translate business priorities into successful delivery outcomes
• Identifying and removing delivery bottlenecks to improve efficiency and productivity
• Ensuring delivery timelines, quality standards and business expectations are consistently achieved
• Driving process improvements, operational governance and continuous improvement initiatives
• Managing risks, resolving escalations and maintaining delivery stability in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• Must be South African with a valid South African ID
• Completed Matric with 60% or more achieved for Mathematics – this is an absolute must have
• Completed Degree (BSc Computer Science or BCom Informatics) – this is an absolute must have
• Completed Honours Degree - highly beneficial
• 8 - 10 years’ experience within a Software Development or Technology Delivery environment
• Proven experience leading Developers, Business Analysts and cross-functional teams
• Strong track record of managing delivery performance and achieving operational objectives
• Experience conducting performance reviews coaching team members and managing underperformance
• Strong understanding of the (SDLC) Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience within the Insurance or Financial Services Sector
• Exposure to Agile, Scrum or modern delivery practices
• Natural Leader
• Highly organized
• Excellent communication skills
• Calm, composed and decisive under pressure
• Passionate about developing people and building strong teams
• Focused on continuous improvement

The Package: We’re looking for a tech-savvy professional curios about new technologies and aspiring to deliver technology that is essential to any business with an insurance function. The pay range on offer is R1 000 000.00 to R1 200 000.00 CtC Package Per Annum, based on skills, tech stack, qualifications and experience.
