Service Technician - Trichardt

Our client is seeking a Service Technician to join their team in Trichardt.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to the Electric Motors and Automation departments, assisting with repairs and warranties, commissioning, maintaining QA systems, and supporting service department KPI’s.
In order to be considered for this role, you must have the following:
- Matric
- A recognised and relevant qualification as an Electrician or Technician is preferred
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering Heavy Current / Light Current will be advantageous
- Work experience specifically related to electric motor and drives service and repairs
- Knowledge or experience on the MFM platform will be advantageous
- Trade-related experience inside the Sasol Primary area will be advantageous
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Legal driver’s licence
- Willingness and freedom to travel extensively, including overnight stays away from home
Key Accountabilities, but not limited to
- Providing 24-hour technical support for the Electric Motor and Automation business
- Offering telephonic and on-site support to customers and sales staff
- Attending site meetings and evaluating application-related problems
- Assisting with commissioning
- Analysing and drawing schematic diagrams
- Setting up and testing drives installed into panels
- Attending breakdowns and commissioning on site when required
- Receiving, analysing, and reporting on faulty electric motors and drives
- Preparing and submitting warranty claims
- Keeping proper records of repairs, returns, and warranty claims
- Completing job cards and Goods Received Notes
- Updating GRN schedules for returned motors and drives
- Processing job cards, Work In Progress, and delivery notes
- Ensuring customers are quoted and invoiced timeously on SAP where applicable
- Maintaining technical files and ensuring sufficient stock levels of required spares
