PLC & SCADA Programmer

Nnovative Automation (Pty) Ltd is a leading provider of industrial automation and control solutions, delivering high-quality engineering services across a range of industries. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated PLC & SCADA Programmer to join our team on a contract basis.

This role is ideal for a hands-on automation professional with strong Siemens experience who enjoys working on challenging industrial projects, from system development and integration to site commissioning and troubleshooting. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering reliable and efficient automation solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and program Siemens SIMATIC PCS 7
• Develop and maintain SCADA/HMI applications using Siemens WinCC
• Program and troubleshoot Siemens S7 PLCs (S7-400 and S7-1500)
• Configure and commission industrial communication networks, including Profibus DP/PA and/or Profinet
• Perform site commissioning, loop checks, I/O testing, and system troubleshooting
• Assist with system integration, testing, and project documentation

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience with Siemens automation systems
• Strong PLC programming and SCADA development skills
• Experience with industrial network configuration and diagnostics
• Ability to conduct commissioning and fault-finding on site
• South African resident
• Willingness to travel and work on customer sites
• Own reliable transport

Advantageous Qualifications & Experience

• Experience with AS-i (Actuator Sensor Interface)
• Background in mining, minerals processing, or heavy industrial environments
• National Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Control, Automation, or Instrumentation Engineering
