The Garden Venue is a destination function and event location set in beautifully landscaped gardens in the Northriding Smallholdings, near the Northgate Dome. The property spans 3 hectares and offers a relaxed country atmosphere with multiple reception, conference, meeting, and ceremony rooms. These unique indoor and outdoor event spaces accommodate groups from intimate gatherings of 12 to large events of up to 500 guests. The venue is suitable for weddings, conferences, seminars, team building, birthday celebrations, year-end functions, and various showers. With distinctive spaces such as the Olive Tree Hide, Koi Pond Pavilion, and Elephant Room, The Garden Venue provides tailored settings for a wide range of special occasions.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Sales Consultant role based in Johannesburg. The Sales Consultant will engage with prospective and existing clients to understand their event requirements, present suitable venue options, and create tailored event proposals. Responsibilities include managing inbound and outbound inquiries, conducting on-site venue tours, preparing quotations, and following up to convert leads into confirmed bookings. The role involves coordinating closely with operations and events teams to ensure accurate handover of client requirements and a seamless event experience. The Sales Consultant will also maintain accurate records in the CRM system, contribute to sales targets, support promotional activities, and represent The Garden Venue professionally at all times.
Qualifications
- Strong client-facing skills in Sales Consulting and Consulting, with a proven ability to understand needs and propose suitable event solutions.
- High level of Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction focus, with a commitment to building long-term client relationships.
- Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present options clearly and confidently.
- Previous experience in hospitality, events, or venue sales is highly advantageous.
- Comfortable working toward sales targets and managing a pipeline of leads.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in proposals and booking documentation.
- Proficiency with basic office software and CRM or booking systems.
- Ability to work on-site, including some evenings, weekends, and public holidays based on event and client needs.
- Relevant qualification or training in sales, hospitality, events management, or a related field is beneficial.
