About the Opportunity
Motus Mahindra Paarl is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Aftersales Manager to lead the dealership's Service and Aftersales function.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aftersales activities, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction, driving operational efficiency, resolving customer concerns effectively, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical knowledge, exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to manage customer expectations while balancing business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Aftersales Operations
- Lead and manage the Aftersales Department to achieve operational and customer service objectives.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for aftersales customer concerns and complaints.
- Ensure customers receive professional, transparent and efficient service throughout the ownership journey.
- Coordinate and oversee aftersales activities, including service bookings, warranty matters, repairs and customer follow-ups.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, service providers and manufacturers.
- Monitor and improve customer satisfaction and retention levels.
- Ensure dealership service standards and manufacturer requirements are consistently met.
- Identify opportunities to improve the customer aftersales experience and operational processes.
Customer Experience
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Manage customer concerns professionally and objectively, ensuring fair and commercially sound outcomes.
- Set realistic expectations and communicate effectively throughout the customer journey.
- Ensure timely resolution of customer complaints and service issues.
- Promote a customer-centric culture throughout the dealership.
Leadership and Team Management
- Lead, motivate and develop the Aftersales team.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and manufacturer standards.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism and continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor departmental performance and implement corrective action where required.
- Ensure effective management of workshop productivity and service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records and reporting.
- Drive cost control and operational efficiencies within the department.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in the motor industry in a Service Advisor, Workshop Controller, Service Manager or similar role.
- Strong technical understanding of vehicle diagnostics, repairs and aftersales operations.
- Previous leadership or management experience within a dealership environment.
- Proven ability to manage customer conflict and resolve complex customer issues.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Additional language proficiency in Afrikaans, isiXhosa or isiZulu will be advantageous.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and dealership management systems.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
- Clear criminal record.
