SUMMARY

We are recruiting an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth and secure new business opportunities within the transport and logistics sector.

POSITION INFO

This role requires a seasoned logistics professional with a deep understanding of transport operations, supply chain constraints, and commercial logistics solutions. The successful candidate must be capable of identifying and securing new business opportunities beyond the traditional FMCG and mining sectors, bringing fresh thinking, new markets, and untapped client opportunities into the business. Key Responsibilities Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the transport and logistics industry. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets. Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients. Generate new business from diverse industries, expanding beyond traditional logistics customer bases. Understand customer supply chain requirements and develop tailored logistics solutions. Collaborate with operational teams to ensure solutions presented to clients are commercially viable and operationally achievable. Prepare and present compelling proposals, tenders, and client presentations. Negotiate commercial agreements and contracts. Conduct market research to identify emerging industries, market trends, and growth opportunities. Maintain an in-depth understanding of the company''''s service offerings and industry developments. Track and report on sales performance, pipeline activity, competitor movements, and market opportunities. Minimum Requirements Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field. 5-10 years proven business development experience within Transport, Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics, or 3PL/4PL environments. Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations. Demonstrated success in securing and growing new business within the logistics sector. Extensive industry network and ability to access new markets and client opportunities. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify profitable opportunities. Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel. Fluent in Afrikaans and English
