About the Group

Heat Exchanger Retube Services (HERS)

An industrial services business specialising in heat exchanger retubing, condenser maintenance and shutdown projects for power stations, refineries and heavy industry.

Crudus Waste Management

An industrial waste management business focused on catalyst recycling and sustainable waste solutions for South African industry.

RoMeo Imports

An importer and distributor of retail products with significant growth potential across Southern Africa.

None of these businesses currently require a dedicated full-time Business Development Manager individually. Instead, we are looking for one commercially minded individual who can work across the group, focusing time and effort where it will have the greatest impact.

As the businesses grow, so too will the role.

What You'll Be Doing

Your focus will be to identify opportunities, build relationships and help grow all three businesses.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing new business opportunities across multiple industries.
  • Growing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Visiting customers throughout South Africa.
  • Preparing and following up quotations and proposals.
  • Identifying new markets and strategic opportunities.
  • Supporting project coordination where required.
  • Working closely with the business owner to implement commercial growth strategies.
  • Assisting in improving business systems, processes and customer engagement.
  • Representing the businesses professionally at customer sites, including refineries, power stations, mines and other industrial facilities.
  • Travelling nationally, with occasional international travel where required.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience in business development within industrial or technical industries.
  • Enjoys building long-term customer relationships.
  • Is commercially minded and naturally looks for opportunities.
  • Is comfortable working independently without needing constant direction.
  • Enjoys solving problems and creating solutions.
  • Is organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Is comfortable travelling extensively.
  • Is willing to spend time on industrial sites and comply with site safety requirements.
  • Wants to grow into a senior leadership position over time.

Experience within mining, petrochemical, power generation, engineering, manufacturing or industrial services will be highly advantageous.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include one or more of the following:

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Commerce or a related field.
  • Proven experience in industrial business development may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
