Job Title: Project Management Consultant

Location: Centurion

Job Type: 12 month contract, expected to work Full-Time hours (Onsite)

Key Responsibilities

The Project Management Consultant will support the planning, coordination, monitoring, and delivery of projects by applying sound project management principles and assisting project teams in maintaining structure, visibility, and control across project activities. The role also includes facilitating HAZOP studies and providing general project management consulting support across the project lifecycle, requiring strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and a confident, personable manner suited to direct client engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate HAZOP studies for the project
  • Support Project Managers and project teams in the planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out of projects
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Microsoft Project
  • Track project progress against approved baselines, milestones, and deliverables, and highlight deviations or potential risks
  • Support the preparation of project reports, dashboards, meeting packs, minutes, action logs, and status updates
  • Manage project documentation, ensuring records are accurate, up to date, and stored in the correct project repositories
  • Coordinate project meetings, including agenda preparation, action tracking, follow-ups, and distribution of minutes
  • Support risk, issue, change, and dependency tracking by maintaining registers and escalating items where required
  • Assist with stakeholder coordination and communication to ensure project information is shared clearly and timeously
  • Apply general project management principles, processes, and governance requirements in line with internal and client standards
  • Support project controls activities, including progress tracking, schedule updates, cost-related inputs, and reporting support
  • Identify project delays, constraints, and areas requiring management attention
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting lessons learned, process improvements, and project administration best practices
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to support successful project delivery

Requirements

10-15 Years Experience with Projects

  • Degree (BEng/BSc) in Chemical Engineering
  • HAZOP facilitation
  • Schedule development and management
  • Project planning

  • Able to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal/client-facing skills
