SUMMARY

We are seeking a hands-on Production Technician with strong FMCG and high-speed manufacturing experience. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in both production and maintenance, ensuring maximum machine uptime, efficient production output, and rapid response to breakdowns in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

POSITION INFO

Job Description: Set up and change over high-speed production lines according to production requirements Optimise machine performance to maximise efficiency, throughput, and uptime Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on production equipment Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime Provide technical support during breakdowns and carry out repairs as required Support production planning and scheduling to ensure continuous operations Capture production data and machine parameters on the MES system Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives Monitor critical spares and consumables to maintain equipment reliability Skills & Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in an FMCG, packaging, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, or similar high-volume manufacturing environment Strong experience working on high-speed automated production machinery Proven production and maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and perform under production pressure Exposure to PLC-controlled equipment and automated systems is advantageous Good communication and computer literacy skills Valid driver's licence and reliable transport Qualifications: Trade Tested Electrician or Millwright (Red Seal) Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
