Safilo South Africa is seeking a Customer & Trade Marketing Specialist to support business growth through effective trade marketing strategies. Reporting to the Business Development & Marketing Manager, this role focuses on developing and implementing trade marketing plans, aligning brand priorities with commercial objectives, and driving customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Trade Marketing & Brand Activations

Develop and execute trade marketing strategies to boost market share and brand growth.

Implement brand activations in alignment with global and local market needs.

Customer & Retailer Marketing

Design and implement customer-specific marketing programs to enhance brand engagement.

Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners, providing marketing support and training.

Event & Campaign Management

Plan and coordinate trade shows, roadshows, and product launches.

Manage in-store promotions, seasonal campaigns, and special offers to drive sales.

Oversee POS materials, merchandising, and promotional asset distribution.

Performance Tracking & Budget Management

Analyze competitor activities and market trends to refine trade marketing strategies.

Track and report on trade marketing effectiveness, optimizing campaigns based on sales data.

Manage budgets and coordinate vendor activities for brand activations.

Sales Support & Collaboration

Work closely with the sales team to provide promotional tools and training.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure marketing efforts align with brand objectives.

Analyze customer data to improve campaign performance and report insights to senior management.

Key Deliverables & KPIs

Successful implementation of trade marketing guidelines.

Budget monitoring and ROI assessment for brand projects.

Execution of local special projects and reporting on sales impact.

Other Information

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in trade/customer marketing (optical, fashion, retail, or FMCG preferred).

Strong knowledge of trade marketing, consumer behavior, and retail strategies.

Experience in promotional campaigns, sales tools, and POS materials.

Excellent communication, relationship management, and analytical skills.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel).

Ability to travel for trade events and retailer meetings.
