Printing Manager

We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a suitably qualified and experienced Printing Manager at our Flexible Packaging Printing Facility.
The successful incumbent will report directly to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for leading and managing the Print Department to ensure the efficient execution of the production plan in line with required quality standards, production targets, customer specifications and operational efficiencies. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability and a continuous improvement mindset within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all technical aspects of the Printing Department
- Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality standards and customer specifications
- Lead, manage and monitor the performance of Printers and Print Hall employees
- Coordinate preventative maintenance planning for all printing presses
- Monitor production performance, quality and efficiencies, and complete all relevant operational reporting
- Direct and coordinate production control processes to ensure production targets are achieved
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maintain and improve efficiency levels
- Identify training and development needs and facilitate training for trainees and production staff
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, BRCGS, health and safety, and company standards
- Implement controls and disciplines to minimise spoilage, waste and rework
- Liaise effectively with day and night shift teams to ensure smooth production flow and schedule adherence
- Manage employee-related matters within the Print Hall in line with company policies and procedures
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 together with a relevant tertiary qualification
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a similar management role within a flexible packaging environment
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Flexographic Printing process
- Working knowledge of Production Management Systems
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent problem-solving, planning and organisational abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and quality standards
