Job specification

Trade Test: (Fitter or Fitter and Turner)
Expert knowledge of general pumps, pneumatics, and hydraulics
2-3 years post qualification experience in trackless mining environment with hydropower drilling would be advantageous.
Proficiency in English and any other of 11 official languages
Flexibility is required and essential (Standbys and Callouts)
Independent judgement, initiative, outstanding technical and communication skills are required and
South African Driver’s License (Code 8-10) essential
South African Citizenship
Clear Criminal Record

Responsibilities:

Functional support, quality control and best practices within the Engineering /Pump Fitting section
Work a rotation of shifts
Specialized knowledge to analyse and solve complex problems
Inspect, disassemble, re-assemble and repair all components of pump systems and associated mechanical equipment
Perform effective routine maintenance on the pump systems
Troubleshooting and detailed fault analysis are required and essential
Always take instructions from the supervisor(s) responsible for the shift
Conduct all work according to required standards and specifications
Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1’s safety motto: “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
