Our Client is looking for a Barman to join their team

POSITION INFO

Location: Stellenbosch Main Responsibilities Provide friendly, courteous, and professional service at all times and greet guests warmly in line with service standards. Understand the sequence of service and anticipate guest needs. Handle guest complaints and feedback professionally, escalating to the Restaurant Manager or Manager on Duty when required. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the menu and wine list, making informed recommendations. Ensure prompt and accurate service of beverages to pool and restaurant guests. Demonstrate strong knowledge of cocktails and prepare drinks on request. Assist guests with special or non-menu requests, responding positively where possible. Check and restock the coffee station before each service or shift to ensure smooth barista operations. Perform cleaning duties as required, including polishing cutlery and glassware, cleaning floors, fridges, windows, and service areas such as buffet stations. Light and maintain fireplaces in the restaurant and bar during colder months. Accurately enter all transactions into the POS system. Complete end-of-shift cash-ups and ensure they are verified and signed off by the Manager on Duty. Experience and Skills Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role within a 5-star or luxury hospitality environment. Strong knowledge of bar setup, drink service, bar hygiene, and cocktail preparation. Familiarity with food and beverage equipment, tools, and operating procedures. Proficiency in POS systems (Easipos or similar). Excellent communication and guest service skills. Strong customer service orientation with attention to detail. Qualifications and Requirements Matric Certificate. Wine certification or mixology training is advantageous.
