  • Manage and lead the entire process of the Design department.
  • Responsible for all Design requirements including Trend Forecasting and Presentation, Product Design and Development, Range Building, CAD and Facilitating the QA process.
  • Updating best sellers in consultation with the Production and Merchandise Executive to drive sales.
  • Consistent and on-going research for newness in product, artwork and trend direction.
  • Development of new Ranges and Designs including Prints and Graphics for Ladieswear, Kidswear and Menswear.
  • Collaborating with Production and Merchandise Manager on Design requirements to generate sales.
  • Range builds and storyboards for client presentations and meetings according to customer requirements.
  • Work closely with Merchandisers and Buyers to develop production ranges for season briefing.
  • Attending meetings to track buyer feedback and assist with amending the ranges for the season ahead.
  • Process briefs timeously and accurately together with Sales and Merchandise team.
  • Compiling comprehensive tech packs for Production Team, including CAD’s, TD’s, Colours, Specs, Artwork, etc.
  • Approval of strike-offs and lab dips for orders in production.
  • Ownership of the fitting process pertaining to originated designs to ensuring specs; fits etc. is in-line with brief and chain-store/buyer requirements.
  • Participate with QA in fittings and technical discussions – understanding of patterns, fabrics, construction and fits.
  • Take initiative to update best sellers in consultation with Sales and Merchandise Executive.
  • Work with Production team queries pertaining to styling, construction and product requirements.
  • Overseas travel.
  • Research fashion trends via various media and overseas travel.
  • Close communication with the Buyers.
  • Ensure that the fashion trends and interpretation are creative and aspirational, whilst maintaining a commercial edge.
  • Manage the design process and critical path within the established timelines.
  • Oversee conceptualization, colour and prints.
  • Manage the range development process and assist Designers with conceptualizing, technical advice, garment construction, sourcing, fabric, costing, etc.
  • Responsible for all initial and final range review costings.
  • Approve all costings.
