Grade: H
Responsible to: Manager Hospital Nursing Services
Purpose of the Position
Responsibilities include planning, organising, coordinating, and directing psychiatric unit activities, as well as implementation of psychiatric care activities. The candidate should be familiar with organisational procedures, culture, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and organising psychiatric nursing services
- Coordination of psychiatric nursing services with other health services
- Teaching and supervision responsibilities
- Psychiatric nursing services administration
- Provision of special psychiatric nursing services
- Unit stock control
- Nursing responsibilities, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly report writing
- Degree in Nursing Administration plus Diploma in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing
- Diploma in General Nursing and Diploma in Midwifery plus 3 years’ experience in a managerial position
OR
- Degree in Nursing (Generic) + postgraduate/post-basic diploma in nursing administration plus Diploma in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and 5 years working experience in a managerial position or related field
- Computer literacy (compulsory)
- Registration with Lesotho Nursing Council (LNC)
