Electrical Engineer – Design, Manufacturing & Technology

Power Transformers is a leading South African manufacturer of medium-voltage distribution transformers and related electrical equipment, supplying utilities, municipalities, industrial customers and renewable energy projects throughout Southern Africa.

We are seeking an experienced and solutions-driven Electrical Engineer to join our team and contribute to engineering excellence, manufacturing improvement, project execution and technical innovation.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide technical support across engineering, manufacturing, quality and project functions.

· Review and prepare engineering designs, specifications, calculations and technical documentation.

· Conduct technical investigations, fault-finding, root cause analyses and corrective actions.

· Support transformer, switchgear, renewable energy, generator and battery storage projects.

· Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, product quality, operational efficiency and cost reduction.

· Collaborate with Procurement on technical supplier evaluations and equipment selection.

· Support compliance with applicable SANS industry standards.

· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering and technical personnel.

· Participate in new product development and evaluation of emerging technologies.

Minimum Requirements

BTech, Advanced Diploma, BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering

3-8 years’ experience in manufacturing, electrical manufacturing, medium-voltage power systems, switchgear, industrial electrical projects or renewable energy.

Experience with medium-voltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems, technical troubleshooting and practical engineering problem-solving.

Knowledge of relevant SANS transformer and electrical standards

Valid Driver’s License

Advantageous

· ECSA Registration

· GCC (Factories)

· Renewable energy project experience

· Experience with quality management systems

· Experience with fault level calculations, protection systems and earthing design
