TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: Commercial Renewal Underwriter within the Financial Services division at Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.
Job Summary
This role involves managing the commercial insurance renewal process by assessing renewal applications, reviewing risk factors, maintaining policy compliance, and ensuring accurate and timely service delivery to clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Evaluate commercial insurance renewal applications in line with underwriting guidelines and risk appetite
- Review existing policies and recommend appropriate coverage adjustments where required
- Prepare and issue renewal quotations, endorsements, and policy documentation
- Ensure compliance with underwriting standards, FAIS requirements, and regulatory legislation
- Manage the end-to-end renewal process and ensure policies are renewed within required timeframes
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, brokers, insurers, and internal teams
- Assist with underwriting queries, policy amendments, and renewal-related disputes
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to renewal reporting and performance analysis
Qualifications and Skills
- Grade 12 / Matric
- RE5 qualification
- A qualification in Short-Term Insurance and/or a relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in short-term insurance, policy renewals, or client servicing
- Sound knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting principles, and insurance legislation
- Strong administrative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and relationship management abilities
- Ability to work accurately, manage deadlines, and handle high volumes of work efficiently
- Proficient in MS Office
