Environmental Scientist

Our client is seeking a motivated and professionally registered Environmental Scientist to join their Environmental team in Cape Town. This is an excellent opportunity for an environmental professional with experience in contaminated land investigations, regulatory environmental processes, and field sampling to contribute to a diverse range of projects across the Western Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct soil and groundwater sampling and contamination investigations
• Assist with environmental remediation projects
• Prepare Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and associated reports
• Develop and implement Environmental Management System (EMS) plans
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate site investigations and supervise field activities where required
• Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate project documentation
• Liaise with clients, regulatory authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams

Requirements

• BSc or MSc degree in Environmental Science, Natural Sciences, or a related discipline
• Professional registration as a Pr.Sci.Nat.
• Minimum of 3 years' relevant environmental consulting experience
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory approval processes
• Experience in soil and groundwater sampling is essential
• Strong technical report-writing and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
