Our client in the wine industry is looking for a Sales Consultant.
The successful candidate will be based in the Western Cape and will be responsible for developing and growing business within the wine industry sector.
This role requires a dynamic and self-motivated individual with strong relationship-building and sales skills, ideally with experience or exposure to the wine, winery, vineyard, or related beverage industries.
The Sales Consultant will report directly to our Regional Manager based in the Western Cape, as well as our General Manager in Johannesburg.
While the position is based in the Western Cape, the successful candidate will be required to travel to Johannesburg from time to time for meetings, training, and other business-related activities.
Requirements
Competent in selling and marketing of tangible products (Preferable)
Skilled in market research, new customer canvassing and service of existing customers
Minimum of 2-5 years working experience in an external sales, marketing or customer service-related position
Proven sales excellence – achieving and/or exceeding monthly and annual budgets / targets
Proven sales and business development experience
Strong communication and relationship management skills
Ability to work independently and manage a sales territory effectively
Experience within the wine, beverage, food processing, or related industries would be advantageous
Willingness to travel
Technical Skills
Specialised in technical sales of technical products for food and wine industry.
Computer literate and familiar with standard MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
Strong planning and organisation skills.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Well trained in all areas of sales and marketing.
Good interpersonal and social skills and adept at cultivating good business relationships with customers.
Own transport essential.
Responsibilities
General Sales & Marketing Duties
General Customer Service Duties
Build and maintain sound relationships with customers, suppliers, vendors, and business partners.
Grow current business with existing customers.
Obtain and develop new prospective customers.
Accurate reporting and compilation of market information
Competently calculate cost and sales prices for products
Develop annual sales budgets (in conjunction with Regional Manager)
Provide technical support during lab-scale tests and production trials
