Requirements
- Current Registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 2 -3 years’ proven experience as a Registered Nurse in an Emergency / Trauma Department
- Post Basic Qualification in Medical and Surgical Nursing, Trauma will be advantageous
- Previous experience in a Private Hospital and trauma trained is advantageous
- Ventilator competency is essential
- Shift work compulsory
- Work overtime when required
- Be flexible and willing to assist in other departments
Duties & Responsibilities
- Strong quality patient care orientation
- BLS competent
- Supervise and orientate junior staff members and students
- Perform teaching rounds with junior staff members and students
- Competent in physical assessment
- Ability to interpret the ABG’s and ECG’s
- Competent in administration of medication and IV medication
- Provide health education to parents and patients
- High energy levels and tolerance for stress/pressure
- Problem analysis/solving skills and accurate record keeping
- Adaptable and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
- Ability to render basic and advanced nursing care without supervision
- Ability to identify and manage stoke patients
- Ad-hoc duties
