ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and self-driven Sales Manager to join our growing team in Randburg, Gauteng. The primary focus is commercial and industrial (C&I) Customers, with residential opportunities also pursued where relevant. This role carries full personal revenue accountability and an additional team override on junior sales revenue - rewarding both individual performance and team development.
Candidates with an established book of Customers and the ability to hit the ground running will be strongly preferred. Solar industry experience is non-negotiable - candidates without a proven solar sales track record will not be considered.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Achieve and exceed monthly personal revenue targets
- Close commercial and industrial solar contracts
- Prepare high-quality proposals and lead tender responses
- Negotiate commercial terms at director level
- Maintain a strong and active commercial pipeline at all times
- Proactively generate new qualified Customers every month
- Coach and develop junior sales employees
- Manage key account relationships for repeat and referral business
- Represent ATSolar at industry events and strategic engagements
- Develop and grow referral and channel partner networks
- Submit weekly pipeline and monthly performance reports
- Monitor competitor pricing, NERSA and tariff developments
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- National Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Engineering or Business
- 3 to 5 years B2B sales experience in the solar or renewable energy sector - essential
- Proven track record closing commercial and industrial solar deals - references required
- Established network of C&I decision-makers - residential sector knowledge also welcome
- SAPVIA PV Green Card or equivalent solar industry credential - essential
- Valid Code 08 driver's license and own reliable vehicle
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (intermediate level or above)
- CRM experience - HubSpot or Salesforce preferred
- Financial modelling skills - ROI, payback period, IRR, LCOE
- Prior experience mentoring or managing junior sales employees - advantageous
