Role Purpose
The role focuses on delivering holistic estate planning solutions to intermediaries (IFA) by integrating estate structuring, tax efficiency, and wealth transfer strategies, supported by a Legal Adviser to ensure compliance and technical accuracy.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Relevant degree (Law, Financial Planning, Accounting, or similar)
- Professional certifications (e.g., CFP, Fiduciary Practitioner, or equivalent preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in estate planning, fiduciary services, or wealth management
- Experience working with financial advisers and high-net-worth clients
Knowledge
- Keep abreast of developments in the market, competitor landscape, product and legislative changes or requirements
- Understanding of the financial services industry
- Deep knowledge of estate planning, trusts, and fiduciary structures
- Understanding of tax implications related to estates and wealth transfer
Knowledge of investment principles and financial planning integration
Duties and Responsibilities
Product Promotion & Distribution
- Champion the Momentum Estate Provider offering across adviser and client segments.
- Partner with the Retail Business Consultant to identify distribution opportunities and embed estate planning into IFA value propositions.
- Support the Investment Consultant in aligning estate planning solutions with investment strategies and where the opportunity arise refer to Retail Consultant
- Participate in joint IFA and client engagements, presentations, and solution design sessions.
Estate Planning Advisory
- Provide specialist estate planning input, including:
- Wills and testamentary structuring
- Trust structuring (inter vivos and testamentary trusts)
- Beneficiary planning and liquidity assessments
- Tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies
- Conduct estate gap analyses and recommend appropriate solutions using the Momentum Estate Provider.
- Ensure alignment between estate plans, investment portfolios, and broader financial planning strategies.
Capability Building & Enablement
- Equip financial advisers with knowledge and tools to position and implement estate planning solutions.
- Deliver training sessions, workshops, and thought leadership content on estate planning and the Momentum Estate Provider.
- Develop case studies and practical frameworks to simplify estate planning conversations.
- Train consultants
Client & Intermediary Engagement
- Support high-value and complex client engagements.
- Assist advisers in structuring solutions for sophisticated client needs.
- Build strong relationships with intermediaries, ensuring trust and credibility as a subject matter expert.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all estate planning solutions comply with legal, tax, and regulatory frameworks.
- Work with the Legal Adviser to mitigate risks and maintain governance standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adherence to internal policies.
