Prestige Innovative Solutions (PIS) is seeking a dynamic and technically competent part-time Occupational Hygienist to support Occupational Hygiene Management Systems (OHMS) across mining and industrial operations in Limpopo.
Position Summary

Main Responsibilities
• Lead the establishment, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Occupational Hygiene Management System (OHMS) for the platinum concentrator plant in alignment with the requirements of the Mine Health and Safety Act, Mandatory Codes of Practice, and company standards.
• Develop and implement occupational hygiene strategies, programmes, procedures, and governance systems to effectively manage health risks associated with concentrator plant operations.
• Oversee baseline, issue-based, and continuous occupational hygiene risk assessments for occupational stressors including airborne pollutants, noise, thermal stress, hazardous chemical agents, ergonomics, illumination, radiation, biological agents, and ventilationrelated exposures.
• Establish and maintain risk-based Homogeneous Exposure Groups (HEGs), exposure monitoring programmes, and occupational hygiene sampling schedules aligned to operational activities and plant processes.
• Provide technical leadership and specialist advice on occupational hygiene matters, including the identification and implementation of engineering, administrative, and critical control measures to reduce employee exposures.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Health, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
• Registered as an Occupational Hygienist (ROH) (SAIOH) or Advanced Certificate in Mine Environmental Control (Required).
• 3-5 years’ Occupational Hygiene experience within mining and/or heavy industry.
• Valid Driver’s License Code B / EB. Skills and Competencies
• Knowledge of MHSA, OHSA, ISO, SANS and NIOSH standards.
• Strong analytical, report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong planning, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills.
