Job Purpose
The Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to coordinate, review and implement the management accounting systems and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
A relevant tertiary qualification in Financial Management at NQF level 7 (equivalent or higher); A minimum of 3 years relevant supervisory experience; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence. NB: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.

Key Performance Areas
Planning – Coordinate, review, analyse and quality assure the financial supporting information for planning purposes; Budgeting – Coordinate, review, analyse and quality assure the budget preparation process; Reporting – Coordinate, review, analyse and quality assure the management accounting reporting processes; Manage the operational processes, resources and procedures associated with the management accounting functions.
Competencies
Knowledge of the following: Financial norms and standards (Public Finance Managements Act, National Treasury regulations, Provincial Treasury Directives etc); Medium-Term Expenditure Framework Budget process and procedures; Principles and Practices of Financial Accounting; Government Accounting Standards (GRAP); Economic Reporting Framework including Standards Charts of Accounts; Government Financial Systems.
Skills needed: Proven computer literacy (MS Office); Written and verbal communication; Numeracy; Literacy; Management; Customer service; Project Management; Accounting, Finance and Audit; Information Technology; Financial analysis; Presentation/Report writing; People Management; Research.
Remuneration
R 487 197 - R 573 897 per annum (Salary level 9)
Note on remuneration in addition service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
