Semi-Skilled Technician (Panel Beating Industry)

A workshop in JHB - Brakpan is seeking a Semi-Skilled Technician to join their team on a contractor basis. Mid-career level with 2-4 years of experience in the Automotive and Engineering industry.

POSITION INFO

Key Responsibilities: Assist with the repair of damaged vehicle body panels. Remove and refit vehicle components such as bumpers, lights, mirrors, trims, and door handles. Perform basic panel beating tasks under supervision. Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, filling, and priming. Operate workshop tools and equipment safely. Assist with vehicle stripping and assembly. Ensure repairs are completed according to workshop quality standards. Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe. Report damaged tools or equipment to the supervisor. Follow company procedures and health and safety regulations. Assist with loading and moving vehicles within the workshop when required. Minimum Requirements: Matric (preferred). 1-3 years' previous experience in a panel beating or automotive workshop. Basic knowledge of vehicle body repairs. Familiarity with workshop hand tools and power tools. Valid driver's licence (advantageous). Ability to work overtime when required. Skills and Competencies: Good attention to detail. Strong work ethic and reliability. Physical Requirements: Physically fit and able to lift heavy vehicle components. Comfortable standing for extended periods. Able to work in a workshop environment with noise, dust, and paint fumes. Good hand-eye coordination. Health & Safety: Wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. Comply with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations. Report unsafe conditions immediately. Handle tools and equipment responsibly. Performance Indicators (KPIs): Quality of workmanship.
