Purpose Of The Job
Our client is looking for an experienced and qualified General Sales Manager to join their team. The ideal incumbent will be a dynamic and driven leader to take full responsibility for achieving ambitious sales and revenue goals while managing and inspiring a team of Sales Executives. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for motorcycles, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in new and used automotive sales management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving performance, implementing effective sales strategies, and ensuring an outstanding customer experience. It should be second nature to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
The incumbent will take responsibility for achieving the sales and revenue goals for new and used motorcycles - acting as an energetic role model to the team, a passionate advocate of the brand and a senior representative of the retailer. Your leadership will ensure customers enjoy positive, memorable experiences every time they visit your site or interact with your sales team. You will also oversee sales processes, activities, and target setting, as well as initiating marketing activities and taking care of operational management.

Key Responsibilities: Achieving Sales Targets: The primary goal is to consistently meet or exceed sales targets for motorcycles and accessories Team Leadership: Motivate, coach, and develop the sales team, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed Customer Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, both existing and potential, to foster loyalty and drive repeat business Sales Processes: Oversee and optimize the sales process and lead management to ensure efficient and effective sales operations Market Knowledge: Stay current with market trends, competitor activity, and product offerings Financial Services: Promote and manage retail financing and insurance sales to increase profitability Marketing: Support marketing initiatives and campaigns to drive sales and build brand awareness Dealer Relations: Manage relationships with Group dealers, especially regarding Commercial Financing and sales operations Requirements: Senior Certificate (Grade 12) A Business diploma or equivalent tertiary qualification in Management/ Marketing/Sales would be highly advantageous Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in managing successful sales teams within the automotive dealership and retail environments A proven motorcycle enthusiast is essential Working knowledge and experience of sales processes, lead management and online sales principles Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint proficient) Sound knowledge and experience of financial management and budgeting principles/systems Motorcycle license essential Essential competencies: Building Strategy & Driving Change Business Orientated Thinking & Resource Management Customer & Service Orientation Employee Development & Motivation Motivation to Perform & Achieve Results Planning & Organising Please note only candidates with the required experience will be contacted and considered.
