Position: Product Support Service Representative
Grade: 10
Business Unit: Mining
Location: Lesotho
Reporting To: Operations Manager
Key Outputs
- Visit customers face-to-face and build relationships with decision-makers, listening to and understanding their needs and business goals.
- Advise customers on immediate equipment repair needs, PSPs, SOS and Product Link. Help customers with warranty issues and develop proactive before-failure repair strategies.
- Coordinate with Parts, Service and Equipment Management divisions to support customers’ needs.
- Consult with customers about equipment life cycles, maintenance and replacement budgets, and other solutions that will lower their owning and operating costs and support customer success.
- Communicate customer-specific needs for parts requirements to ensure availability.
- Assist with obtaining quotes for parts, service and equipment management solutions.
- Use relevant systems (C4C/Sales Force) to log all customer site visits, inspections, competitor visits and opportunities, and to manage customer information such as contacts and feedback (action and close PSEs).
- Conduct equipment inspections (Cat Inspect and CWMS) and record the status of the machine using Cat Inspect.
- Schedule maintenance, ensuring service technicians and field service personnel know which machines need to be seen specifically.
- Understand the full range of the dealership’s product offerings and how they are intended to meet business and customer needs.
- Create and obtain sign-off for CVAs (responsible for CVA contract enrolments and renewals).
- Develop call plans to effectively manage assigned territory, calling on diverse customers and covering at least 90 percent of the opportunity.
- Review data for each customer and report equipment status, lost sales and opportunities.
- Target offerings appropriately to solve customers’ needs.
- Contribute to Customer Experience Management (NLS).
- Meet performance goals, such as Target Growth Accounts, Connected Assets, Conquest Accounts, POPS targets and sales targets, as well as customer satisfaction.
- Engage in training events that continually grow skills to effectively respond to changing markets and transitions in business strategies.
- Conduct equipment inspections (GET, CWMS, TAT, etc.) and record the status of aspects of the machines using Cat Inspect.
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Qualified diesel/earthmoving equipment mechanic/auto electrician (or equivalent qualification).
- B.Tech Sales/Marketing Diploma or Certificate.
- 3 to 5 years’ Caterpillar experience as a mechanic with field experience (for Product Support Sales Representative Level 1).
- PSSR Foundational Certification completed.
- High competence in Microsoft Office.
- SAP and CRM exposure.
