A leading student accommodation provider is seeking a professional and customer-focused Residence Concierge to join its residence team in Cape Town, Western Cape.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in student accommodation, hospitality, hotels, residential estates, customer service, front desk operations, concierge services, reception, or security to join a dynamic student residence accommodating approximately 350–380 residents.

About The Role

As the Residence Concierge, you will be the first point of contact for students, residents, visitors, contractors, and service providers while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the residence.

This is a combined customer service, concierge, and access control role where you will provide exceptional resident support while assisting with access control, CCTV monitoring, biometric systems, emergency alarms, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents.

Working 12-hour day and night shifts, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming, secure, and professionally managed student living environment.

Key Responsibilities Resident Services & Customer Experience Welcome students, residents, visitors, contractors, and service providers in a professional and friendly manner Deliver exceptional customer service and assist with day-to-day resident enquiries Manage resident check-ins, check-outs, and visitor access Resolve resident requests promptly and professionally Create a welcoming, positive, and professional living environment for all residents Access Control & Security Monitor and control access to the residence Operate CCTV surveillance systems Monitor biometric access control systems Respond appropriately to emergency alarms and incidents Maintain a safe, secure, and orderly residence Record and report security incidents and operational concerns Residence Operations Work closely with the Residence Management team to ensure smooth daily operations Assist with resident communication and administrative duties Ensure reception and communal areas remain professional and presentable Support operational procedures and emergency response protocols Teamwork & Communication Collaborate with colleagues across operations and security functions Communicate effectively with students, visitors, contractors, and management Maintain high customer service standards while supporting the overall residence operation Minimum Requirements Previous experience as a Residence Concierge, Concierge, Receptionist, Front Desk Officer, Customer Service Representative, Guest Services Officer, Security Officer, or similar customer-facing role Student accommodation experience is advantageous Experience within hospitality, hotels, residential estates, corporate reception, or customer service environments will also be considered Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent customer service orientation Comfortable working with CCTV, biometric access control systems, and emergency alarm systems (training will be provided) Computer literacy Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure Willingness to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays Key Skills Residence Concierge Student Accommodation Resident Services Customer Service Front Desk Operations Reception Access Control CCTV Monitoring Biometric Systems Security Operations Visitor Management Resident Relations Communication Skills Incident Reporting Hospitality Residential Property Time Management Problem Solving Teamwork Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Professional, approachable, and customer-focused Passionate about delivering exceptional resident experiences Calm, confident, and able to manage challenging situations Reliable, trustworthy, and safety-conscious Comfortable working shifts in a busy student accommodation environment Able to balance customer service with security responsibilities Why Apply?
