Motion Graphic Designer / Video Editor

Fresh Advertising and Marketing is looking for an experienced Motion Graphic Designer / Video Editor to join our creative team.

We are an established Cape Town agency working across a variety of brands, campaigns, digital content, social media, video, and marketing communication. This role is best suited to someone who can bring ideas to life through motion, animation, editing, and polished digital execution.

We are looking for more than a button-pusher. The right person should be able to interpret a brief, develop strong visual solutions, animate with purpose, edit with pace, and deliver high-quality work across multiple digital formats.

What you’ll be doing

You will work closely with the Creative Leads and internal team to create motion and video assets for a range of clients and platforms.

Your responsibilities will include

• Creating motion graphics for social media, digital campaigns, web, presentations, and video content
• Designing and animating 2D assets, AVs, GIFs, reels, stories, banners, and other digital formats
• Editing video content with strong pacing, structure, transitions, and visual polish
• Taking projects from concept and storyboard through to animation, edit, export, and final delivery
• Adapting creative across multiple formats, ratios, platforms, and brand guidelines
• Working independently on briefs while keeping the team updated on progress
• Collaborating with the Creative Director, designers, and account teams to deliver work on deadline
• Preparing final files correctly for social, digital, web, and presentation use
• Managing multiple briefs while maintaining attention to detail and quality

What we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will have:

• A relevant qualification in motion graphics, animation, design, video editing, or a related creative field
• Solid experience in motion design, video editing, or digital content creation
• A strong showreel or portfolio demonstrating motion graphics, editing, animation, and digital design craft
• Excellent working knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro
• Strong skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• A good understanding of digital formats, social media specs, aspect ratios, compression, and export settings
• The ability to interpret creative briefs and develop work from idea to delivery
• Strong visual design ability, not just technical animation skills
• Excellent attention to detail, timing, typography, layout, and brand consistency
• The ability to work quickly, independently, and accurately under deadline pressure
• A positive, solutions-focused attitude

Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:

• HTML5 banners
• 3D animation software
• Colour grading
• Sound design
• Storyboarding

Important details

• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm
• Location: Sunningdale/Table View, Cape Town
• Transport: Own transport is required
• Availability: Extended hours may occasionally be required when deadlines demand it
• Remuneration: Market-related, based on experience and portfolio strength
